Mole's Fencing Services - Wildflower Meadow and Orchard Maintenance

Maintenance is the most important part of wildflower meadow management despite the popular myth that wildflower mixtures require no maintenance at all.

Every year the meadow must be mowed twice to about 4cm as a meadow left uncut will resort to rough grassland in just a few years.

Cutting is carried out in March to May and in September to November with the cuttings cleared from the site to allow plant growth and flower development.

Similarly, orchards require the same care regime to optimize their fruiting potential, allowing effective tree maintenance and reducing the potential of pests and diseases.

The aesthetic appearance of the orchard is improved and a good foundation for wildlife habitat established.
